today could’ve been a special day. today would’ve been a special day. but it’s not. today is just another day like any other…although we didn’t end on the greatest of terms, we have no one to blame but ourselves. we both had our faults. i wish i could take the pain away..i wish i could take all the anger away..i wish i could take this sadness and make it all disappear. but i can’t. it is what it is now…but i still miss you. i still care about you and i still love you. and regardless of where we stand with each other i still want to be there for you. like i promised i would. i will always be here for you no matter what happens…forever and always, beyond infinity..
Mary J. Blige | Be Without You
Be Without You is the lead single from Blige’s seventh album, The Breakthrough.
It became one of the best songs in 2006 and spent 15 weeks at number one on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. It was the most successful R&B song in history but now it falls behind to Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines”.
The song won the Best R&B Song and Best Female R&B Vocal Performance at the 49th Grammy awards.
